Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Gateway International Education (“Gateway”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, including the enquiry form.

It describes how the website works today. If that changes, we will update this page.

When you submit the enquiry form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your preferred contact method and the contact detail you give us (a WeChat ID, email address or phone number);
  • your child’s age and intended year of entry;
  • optionally, a preferred Australian city or state, and any message you choose to write;
  • the language version of the site you used.

We do not ask for your child’s name. Please do not include sensitive personal information, such as identity document numbers or health details, in the free-text field.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

We also use your network location (your country, not your precise location) to guess which language to show first. This happens automatically each visit and nothing about it is stored; you can switch language at any time, and your choice is then remembered for later visits.

We use the information you submit to:

  • respond to your enquiry and arrange a first conversation;
  • assign a suitable family advisor and keep communicating with you;
  • administer our services and keep records of our communications;
  • protect the site and our systems, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use enquiry information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

Enquiry information is accessible to Gateway personnel who need it to respond to you. We also use service providers to operate this website and receive enquiries, including our hosting and form provider (Netlify) and the email and messaging services we use to contact you.

We do not share your enquiry with schools, migration agents or other third parties unless you ask us to, you agree, or we are required to by law.

Our website and form provider operates internationally. Information you submit may be stored or processed on servers in countries other than the one where you live, including outside Australia and outside China. If you contact us through WeChat, WhatsApp or email, those services are run by third parties and handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We cannot guarantee where any particular piece of information is stored or processed.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website. The site may set a small cookie to remember the language you selected. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as the law requires, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will consider your request and respond, subject to any legal obligations. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

This website is intended for parents and guardians, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
